ALABASTER – Parents of upcoming Alabaster City Schools kindergarteners who are looking to submit the registration requirements early will have a chance to do so in April.

Alabaster City Schools’ kindergarten pre-registration days have been set for April 1 from 7-11 a.m. and April 2 from 12-6 p.m. Parents can register their children in person at the school their child is zoned for. Children must be born on or before Sept. 2, 2015 to begin kindergarten.

Parents are encouraged to take advantage of this early registration opportunity. Those who miss early registration will have another opportunity to do so beginning June 9. From that day until the school year begins, parents will be able to register kids on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8-11a.m.

In order to register their children, parents or guardians will need the following original documents:

-Original certified birth certificate (state issued).
-Current Alabama immunization form (blue card/white with imprint logo).
-Social security card or Tax document to verify number (Optional. If identity theft is your concern the school will assign a number).
-Parent/legal guardian’s driver’s license or picture ID.
-One of the following current proofs of residence: Utility bill (power, water, gas or garbage), mortgage or lease (lease MUST list all occupants). Documents must show physical address and service must be in the parent/legal guardian’s name and dated within 30 days of enrollment.
-Any applicable divorce decree or court ordered custody documents.

On Tuesday, May 12, at 9 a.m., Meadow View will host the Kindergarten Tour where snacks, supply lists and a school tour will be provided.
