HELENA – The Helena Athletics Association Soccer Club will hold its inaugural Mother-Son dance on March 7 starting at 6 p.m. in the Helena High School cafeteria.

According to Brian Turner, HAA president, the dance came as a response to the organization’s Father-Daughter dance.

“A lot of the moms are the ones that register the fathers and daughters for the other dance, so when we announced that one we got a lot of calls to do a mother-son event,” Turner explained. “As we formed the committees this year we suggested to the soccer club who needed another fundraiser to hold this event.“

The inaugural event, like the Father-Daughter dance, will be held at the HHS cafeteria to accomodate a large crowd, and will be a big event welcoming students from PreK through 6th grade.

The theme of the event is “Love You to the Moon and Back,” and will give Helena mothers a chance to spend time with their sons in a fun setting.

The event will include music provided by a dj, snacks and fun activities for those attending the event.

According to its website, the HAA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission “to raise funds to support Helena’s entire student athletic program.” Turner expressed that all of the work for this and all other events relies solely on volunteers.

Tickets for the Mother-Son Dance are $45 for a couple and additional $25 to bring another daughter.

Tickets for this event, and more information about the Soccer Club and other HAA clubs and activities can be found at Helenaathleticassociation.org.
