The Garage Kickboxing opening second location in Calera

CALERA – The Garage Kickboxing, a gym that offers a variety of martial arts classes, is set to open its doors in Calera on Monday, March 2, at 10864 Alabama 25.

The Garage Kickboxing offers a full-body dynamic kickboxing workout in just 30 minutes. Co-owners and trainers Jeremy Phillips and Zak Moore have more than 18 combined years of training and competing in kickboxing, Muay Thai and MMA.

The new gym in Calera and will be their second location. Their first location in Alabaster has been going strong since 2016. The Garage Kickboxing will hold an official grand opening and ribbon-cutting celebration on Friday, April 3, at 10 a.m.

“Training others has been a passion of mine for years,” Phillips said. “We are thrilled to be expanding into Calera where we can serve even more members. The additional space will also allow us to provide a variety of classes for all ages. We are planning to offer striking classes, Jiu Jitsu, wrestling, yoga and others.”

The Garage Kickboxing – Calera will be offering several grand opening specials. Residents are encouraged to come and check it out in person. The first two visits and/or first two classes are free. Regular memberships are $79.99 a month, but the first 50 people to sign up will receive a discount and pay $49.99 instead. Private lessons are also available.

Phillips and Moore worked with Calera Main Street, a revitalization program with a focus on economic development and historic preservation, to make this second location a reality.

“We are excited to welcome The Garage Kickboxing to Calera Main Street,” Jackie Batson, Executive Director of Calera Main Street said. “We are working hard to provide more reasons to come out and enjoy historic downtown Calera. We are planning several more openings this year, plus additional parking in the back.”

The Garage is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon. They are closed on Sundays and daily for lunch from 12:30-2 p.m. For more information, visit Garagekickboxing.com or call 205-565-4400.
