He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Goddard (Kevin); two granddaughters, Samantha A. R. Goddard and Leia D. I. Goddard; and brothers, Charlie Johnson (Linda), Gary Johnson (Sandy), and Jess Johnson (Elizabeth).

David was a retired U. S. Coast Guard Warrant Officer 03, a Hamm Radio Operator Extra, and a lifetime Fleet Reserve member. He also retired as Head of Maintenance at Chelsea Middle School.

David was a loving husband, a wonderful father, an awesome grandfather, and a giving brother. He had a huge heart of gold, and was always helping people whether it was a family member or someone he just met. Giving was always part of his living. That was just his way.

We know that he is now in a better place with our Lord and made it home to his Shelley.
