Student of the Week: February 16, 2020

Name: Jamya Gilleylen
School: Thompson High School
What is your favorite subject in school: My favorite subject in school is chemistry because it puts me on the right path to be in the medical field.
What school groups are you involved in: I am involved in the Leo club, THS Varsity Cheer and THS Ambassadors.
What community groups are you involved in: I am involved in the City of Alabaster Teen Council and serve at The Church of the Highlands Woodlawn campus, and Dream Center on SERVE Day.
Who is your favorite teacher:  My favorite teacher is Mr. Huggins; I love how he brings life into the classroom and makes real life situations out of what we are learning.
What are your hobbies: My hobbies are cheer, reading, mentoring, and I enjoy Netflix.
What do you want to be when you grow up: When I grow up I want to be a dermatologist so I can help people be confident in their skin.
