Here are highlights about this week’s Veteran of the Week:

Elmer Agee was born in Clark County, Alabama, in 1918 to a farming family. He entered active duty on Jan. 8, 1940 in Montgomery, and was assigned to Camp Bell in Clark County, and later to Company A 512th Military Police. His service took him to Bastogne, followed by the occupation of Germany. He saw action at Normandy (Northern France), Central Europe, the Rhinelands, and Ardennes. Agee received the Bronze Star Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Driver’s/Mechanic’s Badge, World War II Lapel Pin, U.S. Army Lapel Pin, Combat Infantry Badge, American Defense Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal and Army Good Conduct Medal for his service.
