COLUMBIANA – Three Columbiana men have been arrested on drug charges as part of a lengthy investigation the Columbiana Police Department has conducted on the sale of illegal narcotics in the city.

Nicholas Buie was arrested on March 24 at a local residence, where officers also seized a 9-millimeter pistol, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, drugs and drug paraphernalia, according to a CPD press release.

Terrence Green was arrested nearby after fleeing from officers, resulting in a short foot pursuit.

Marquez Buie was located and arrested on March 31.

CPD Chief Jeff Bowers expressed gratitude to members of the Calera Police Special Response Team, Calera’s K9 and handler, Columbiana Fire Department and Southeast Shelby Rescue for their assistance with the case.

“I’d like to thank the tireless efforts of my officers,” Bowers wrote in the release. “I’m very pleased with this investigation, and our work continues. We will continue to incarcerate those who use or sell illegal drugs.”
