CALERA – For those in search of a way to say thank you to health care professionals, consider participating in Adventurer’s Coffee Co.’s Quest Rewards program.

Through the program, residents can purchase a bag of ground coffee to be delivered to health care professionals.

“In keeping in theme with who we are and what we want, we believe that these adventurers, these nurses and doctors, deserve a reward for the quest they’re currently undergoing,” reads the company’s website.

“We just thought, ‘What is the best way to get coffee into the hands of people who probably need it most right now,” said Taylor Neal, one of three managing partners in the business. “At this particular point in time, these guys deserve our thanks.”

Neal said the price of one bag of coffee is normally $10.99 plus $7.95 for shipping. However, the price has been lowered to $9.99 with no shipping costs. Neal said he’s been delivering the coffee himself to eliminate shipping costs.

“It’s a way to help and say ‘thank you’ without breaking the bank since a lot of people are out of work right now,” Neal said.

He added that it’s also a way to help the small business stay afloat.

Customers have two options, the specific sponsorship or the anonymous sponsorship. The specific sponsorship is a way for customers to purchase a bag of coffee for someone they specifically know in the medical field, and have it delivered to them. Customers can also choose to have the coffee delivered to a specific hospital or clinic.

The anonymous sponsorship is a way for customers to purchase a bag of coffee to be hand-delivered to the hospitals in the area, for anyone in the field to use.

There’s also an option to include a note that will be handwritten by the team at Adventurer’s Coffee.

So far, 30 bags of coffee have been delivered to UAB. Neal said he has upcoming deliveries to Shelby Baptist Medical Center and Brookwood Baptist Medical Center. Deliveries are made once a week.

Go to Adventurerscoffee.co/questrewards to purchase a bag of coffee for a medical professional. Neal said the program will be ongoing for as long as needed.

The coffee shop’s hours have changed amid the COVID-19 crisis. The shop is now open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
