FROM STAFF REPORTS
Businesses throughout Shelby County are anxious to get back to work while maintaining the well-being of their workforce, their customers and our communities.
That said, successfully combatting COVID-19 will require continued aggressive, collaborative action among governments, health care professionals, businesses and citizens.
Area business groups including the Chelsea Business Alliance, Hoover Area Chamber of Commerce, Montevallo Chamber of Commerce, Montevallo Main Street, The Shelby County Chamber and Westover Business Alliance have expressed support of state and local leaders in their collective effort to take steps toward recovery from the current crisis.
“While actions taken in other areas in our state are central to our own recoveries, we all will continue to be impacted by decisions made – and not made – in other locales,” the agencies said in a joint statement.
“Recognizing that our economies are interconnected and that people regularly travel throughout the County and beyond to access jobs, services and supplies, we support the efforts of Gov. Ivey and our mayors to work together to establish coordinated recovery plans and protocols that will strengthen our economy and preserve our health and safety. As organizations representing businesses throughout Shelby County, we will continue to serve as critical counselors to our leaders in our municipal, state and federal legislative leaders.”
