Ballantrae Golf Club to reopen May 1

PELHAM – The Ballantrae Golf Club is set to reopen for guests to book tee times beginning Friday, May 1, after closing down for the last month due to COVID-19.

Ballantrae General Manager said that the club had talked with local officials and have taken the necessary precautions to safely allow guests to return.

The club released a statement saying “In conjunction with the Alabama Golf Association, Alabama-NW Florida PGA section, and with the governor’s approval that golf is a safe outdoor activity, Ballantrae golf club will re-open effective May 1.”

Through working with local officials we developed a plan to allow people to come out to enjoy playing golf. Currently we have some adjusted hours of operations and safety operations,” said general manager Hal Brown. “Right now our clubhouse will be closed, but we will have to go food orders available from our grill.”

The club will have several safety measures in place. This includes requiring employees to use PPE while interacting with customers. Only one person will be allowed to use a cart at a time, except for family members who came together.

The club will only be open for golfing Wednesday through Sunday, walking and fishing will be allowed on Monday and Tuesday. Tee times will begin at 8 a.m. and run through 5 p.m. on those days.

Brown said that the club will not be able to accept cash payments at this time.

The club is asking guests to book their tee times online at Ballantraegolf.com in advance or call the club at 620-4653 for more information.
