BREAKING: Police investigating deadly shooting in Montevallo

MONTEVALLO – Police are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred in Montevallo on Monday night, May 25, after responding to a shooting with injuries call.

When officers arrived on the scene at the corner of Quarles Street and Selma Road at 8:08 p.m., they encountered a male who had been shot. That male was later pronounced dead.

The shooting is now under investigation, and while the Montevallo Police Department didn’t say whether a suspect had been apprehended, they did say in a Facebook post that there is currently no threat to the public’s safety.

In addition to the MPD, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Alabaster Police Department, Calera Police Department and University of Montevallo Police Department assisted with the call.
