HELENA – With eased restrictions on social gatherings and health guidelines in place, the Helena Business Association’s annual Helena Festival Independence Day celebration is set to move forward on July 3.

The free event will take place around Old Town Helena and at the Helena Amphitheater, kicking off at 5:30 p.m. and featuring a wide variety of entertainment options for guests to enjoy.

There will be an assortment of family friendly activities as well as vendors. Old Town’s merchants will be open, while there will be food trucks and music provided by Old Town Music to entertain attendees of the event.

“People have been cooped up for so long. It’ll be the first big event where people can come out and see their neighbors and watch the fireworks show,” said HBA President Deedra George. “It’s just really a great time for Helena to come together as a community.”

George said social distancing guidelines would be in place among the vendors to help protect guests and follow health guidelines.

The Independence Day celebration will end with a grand fireworks display, which will set off around 9 p.m.

The festival is currently seeking vendors for the event. Registration is open now and spaces are limited due to social distancing guidelines.

Helena Business Association is currently selling Fourth of July themed shirts to help fund the fireworks display. They are taking preorders on their website for the shirts, which are priced at $20.
