Name: Mikayla Leftwich

School: Pelham Park Middle School
Grade: Eighth
What’s your favorite subject in school? My favorite subject is English because it pushes me to try harder and gets me out of my comfort zone.
What school groups are you involved in? Cross country, track, principal advisory and yearbook.
What community groups are you involved in? Theatre (I’ve performed with South City Theatre, Art Play and Red Mountain).
Who is your favorite teacher? My favorite teacher is my history teacher, Coach Collins, because he is not afraid to speak his mind. Coach Collins is always pushing students to do their absolute best and he helps them achieve their goals.
What are your hobbies? My hobbies include theatre, writing, running and listening to music.
If you could donate $100 to a charity, which one would you choose? I would choose the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association (ILGA) because this organization works to eliminate discrimination and promote equality.
What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to be a detective or a forensic scientist.
