PELHAM – Party Art, a Pelham based art studio, has moved to a new location and is offering retail options on top of its already bustling business of art based classes and events.

Abbey Thompson, owner and artist at Party Art since 2009, said the move to the new location at 3183 Lee Street has allowed her to make the business what she has always wanted it to be, despite the issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Our new location is a home, which goes along with the creative things we do at Party Art,” Thompson explained. “We create home décor, we have birthday parties, bachelorette parties and team building, so having a ‘home’ feel is perfect for what we do.”

Due to the pandemic, the studio had to cancel all in-person classes during March, and instead opted to create “At-home art kits,” to allow creative minds to stay engaged during quarantine, and made graduation door hangers for graduating seniors.

Party Art has also expanded to offering retail options in light of public classes in their new location. Thompson said through this new change she has learned that “the community not only enjoys to be creative making things, but they also like the opportunity to shop and purchase things made by local artists.”

Items available at the retail store include things like door hangers, home décor and other items. The business also offers a birthday service for children.

While Party Art is not currently offering publicly available classes they are still able to offer private events such as Kids Crafts Camp, which still has availability at the end of July.

Party Art’s retail store is open 10 a.m-2 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, unless otherwise noted.
