PELHAM – Sav-A-Life Shelby will be hosting its annual Walk For Life benefitting its Pregnancy Resource Center on July 23, with a unique theme of “Glow in the Dark.”

The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church Pelham, and will be a two-mile walk to raise money and awareness. Sav-A-Life’s goal is to raise $33,000 for the Pregnancy Resource Center, which provides services, items and counseling to women and families.

Through donations and sponsorships, they have raised a little under 40 percent of their goal, and hope that the walk will allow them to close the gap.

According to the organization, the money raised will be used to supply the Pregnancy Resource and allow them to provide items and counseling to women and families in need.

According to the center pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, abortion information, parenting classes and material assistance are just some of the many services offered to empower women and men to make a life-affirming decision on something that may be difficult.

Aside from the walk, there will be plenty of family friendly activities including face-painting and many others lined along the walking course.

Those interested in joining the walk will need to pre-register online and make a minimum $35 donation. Participants will receive a glow in the dark T-shirt and “Glow Swag Bags.”

Jon Walden, host of Revocation Radio, will provide entertainment and music for the event.

Sav-A-Life is a non-profit pro-life organization that provides information about “pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, abortion information, parenting classes, and material assistance are just some of the many services offered to empower women and men to make a life-affirming decision,” according to their website.
