HELENA – Residents of Helena gathered at the charming speakeasy like atmosphere of Goodfellas Social Club for its official Billiards Grand Opening on Saturday night, July 18.

Located in the heart of Old Town Helena, Goodfellas attracts a wide array of customer because of its rustic 1920s style, not to mention the cigars that can be enjoyed in the club’s lounge as well as premium cocktails.

According to owner Eric Durrett, guests were already able to come in and enjoy games of billiards in the club, however, this event served as a way to announce to the community another great reason to come to the club and support a local business.

The outpouring of appreciation and support for local business is more important than ever, especially during a time of financial insecurity and hardships. Goodfellas Social Club provides the perfect escape for locals who want to have a “nice, classy place for people to come and relax,” Durrett said.

The billiards area is set up in the downstairs area of the club, where guests can gather on certain nights after 6 p.m. and play friendly games while enjoying drinks and taking in the club’s atmosphere.

Despite the negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, Goodfellas wanted to paint a positive light for the future of social events and create a sense of social bonding whereas many people have been practicing social distancing for so long.

Guests from Helena and neighboring cities all came out to support the club, and many expressed their enjoyment and satisfaction of being able to finally go out and support local businesses while playing a game of billiards.

“Goodfellas is the place to go if you want good beer, good cigars and good people,” said Helena resident Jay Moore, who regularly visits the club. “Everything there is affordable and fun, especially their new billiards setup.”

Goodfellas Social Club is open everyday of the week Monday-Thursday from 11 a.m. until midnight. Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. until 2 a.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. until midnight. The billiards area typically opens after 6 p.m. for guests.
