Highway 25 now open after wreckage is cleared from train striking 18 wheeler

CALERA – Highway 25 is now open again and cleared after an accident involving an 18 wheeler being hit by a train occurred on the night of Sept. 19 at the road’s intersection with County Road 86.

After an accident occurred on Sept. 19, Hwy 25 was blocked in both directions after a train collided with an 18 wheeler at the railroad crossing on Hwy 25 near CR 86 in Calera.

Calera PD reported injuries at the scene of the incident and encouraged residents to avoid the areas while medical care was provided and the vehicle was removed. On Friday, Sept. 20, the city of Calera announced that Hwy 25 was now open again for morning commute.
