ALABASTER – Fans of ramen, sushi and Japanese cuisine can look forward to a brand new experience when Wasabi Japanese Sushi and Bar opens in Alabaster on Monday, Feb. 10.

Just shy of its one-year anniversary, Kiku Asian Express announced on Dec. 16 that it was temporarily closing due to unforeseen circumstances. The business later took to social media on Saturday, Dec. 28 to announce that it was rebranding as Wasabi Japanese Sushi and Bar.

Now, with brand new offerings ready and familiar favorites returning, Wasabi Japanese Sushi and Bar is set to hold its grand opening on Monday, Feb. 10 at 390 S. Colonial Drive in Alabaster from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

“Get ready for the ultimate dining experience at Wasabi Japanese Sushi and Bar,” read an official Facebook post from the restaurant. “Join us for our grand opening and indulge in a feast of fresh delicious ingredients, sizzling flavors and unforgettable memories.”

With this new change, the business is hoping to deliver a special experience to tables with fresh sushi rolls and Japanese-inspired dishes. The restaurant confirmed that it will continue to offer ramen and poke bowls on its menu.

Wasabi Japanese Sushi and Bar will offer a variety of items on its menu, including sushi, salads, hibachi dishes, noodles, curry, ramen, katsu and more.
