Oak Mountain shut down the Prattville Lions in a 6-0 victory on Thursday, Feb. 13 at Oak Mountain High School to continue its undefeated season.

The Eagles are now 4-0 on the year as they continue to establish themselves as one of the top teams in all of Class 7A.

From there, the Eagles’ young stars continued to dominate on offense as Kati Anne Shepherd secured the second goal and doubled up the lead to 2-0.

Elle Cherry kept the scoring going and found the back of the net just a few minutes later to increase the lead to 3-0.

Kaylee Alexander finished off the first-half offensive onslaught going with her own goal to put Oak Mountain up 4-0 heading into the halftime break.

The Eagles weren’t content with just the four first-half goals and kept the momentum going into the second half.

Mae Caroline Cherry joined her sister Elle on the score sheet with the first goal of the second half, which put Oak Mountain up by a commanding margin of 5-0.

Marley Brown put the finishing touches on the 6-0 win with a goal of her own as the Eagles took the victory in their first home match of the season.

In all, Oak Mountain had six different goal scorers across its six goals as the hosts spread the wealth around its talented offense to secure the dominant victory.

The defense also had a stellar night in earning the clean sheet in the Eagles’ first 80-minute match of the young season.

Oak Mountain will look to keep its undefeated season going when it hosts the Huntsville Panthers on Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 5:30 p.m. at Oak Mountain High School.
