FROM STAFF REPORTS

The RC3 Culinary Academy will host its annual Masquerade Ball on Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. at the Riverchase Career Connection Center, offering an evening dedicated to celebrating student talent and supporting future culinary professionals.

Guests will enjoy an upscale dining experience, décor and exceptional service which is all designed and executed by students in the academy’s culinary and hospitality programs.

For the second consecutive year, the event will also honor an individual who has made a significant impact on the culinary industry and local education.

This year’s honoree is David Cohen, a dedicated advocate for small businesses and student success. Cohen serves as the chair of Hoover’s Restaurant Week and is the owner of The Whole Scoop Ice Creamery, where he continuously invests in Hoover City Schools students.

The Masquerade Ball is open to the public, inviting community members to take part in this special evening. In addition to fine dining and entertainment, guests will have the opportunity to participate in a silent auction, with all proceeds benefiting scholarships for deserving RC3 students. Community members can also support RC3 students by donating silent auction items to the event.

Attire for the Masquerade Ball is semi-formal to formal and tickets are $50 per person or $350 a table.

Those interested in ticket purchases, donations or sponsorship opportunities can contact Chef Alethea Carter at Acarter@hoover.k12.al.us.
