MONTEVALLO – Slice Stone Pizza & Brewhouse, a local chain serving specialty pizzas and brews, has announced that its Montevallo location will close on Sunday, March 2.

“It’s with heavy hearts that we announce our Montevallo location will be closing its doors after this Sunday,” read an official post on Facebook. “We’ve loved being a part of this amazing community and it’s been an incredible journey. Our lease was up for renewal, and after much consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision to not renew it.”

With the closure, Slice will now have four locations instead of five spread out across the greater Birmingham area.

Slice’s Montevallo location officially opened on July 25, 2022, at the corner of Ashville Road and Wadsworth Street. The chain initially announced plans to open a location in Montevallo in 2019, but the COVID-19 pandemic and the death of Jeff Bajalieh, one of the three founders of Slice, in 2021 delayed the opening.

The restaurant chain prides itself on using local, seasonal ingredients to create specialty pizzas, salads and desserts.

Customers will be able to continue enjoying all of their favorite dishes at the Montevallo location until its closure on Sunday, March 2.

“We want to celebrate with all of you one last time, so come party with us this weekend for our final days,” read an official Facebook post. “We’re so grateful for the support and memories we’ve made together. See you soon.”

No further information on the closure is available at this time.
