CALERA – The city of Calera announced that three new hotels are set to open—bringing in new visitors and supplying the city with an increase in tax revenue.
A Comfort Inn and Suites is set to open on Beverly Drive next to Zapopan Mexican Restaurant with 78 guest rooms. A Holiday Inn Express is planned to be located on Beverly Drive next to Eminence Urgent Care with 94 guest rooms and a Home2 Suites will be placed on Metro Drive behind the Hampton Inn with 115 guest rooms.
“This incredible development will not only expand accommodation options for visitors but also provide a significant economic boost to our city,” read an official Facebook post by the city of Calera.
Calera highlighted that hotels bring in a steady stream of visitors to the city which will likely take advantage of the city’s nearby restaurants—providing the Calera with additional tax revenue.
“Much like our residents, these visitors often prefer to dine locally, especially after a busy day of travel or work,” read a post by the city of Calera. “The addition of these new hotels creates a built-in customer base for a wide range of dining options, from casual eateries to upscale sit-down restaurants and steakhouses.”
Calera also shared that hotel developments lead to increased foot traffic which is a metric that can encourage the opening of new restaurants.
“This, coupled with the increasing desire for fine dining in Calera, will make our city even more attractive to the restaurants that our community is craving,” read a post by Calera.
A 2018 study by the National Restaurant Association and the U.S. Travel Association found that each hotel room generates demand for 2.1 new restaurant jobs in the area.
“We can’t wait to see how these new developments will continue to shape the future of Calera,” read a post from Calera.
