HELENA – The Helena Police Department has pursued and taken a suspect into custody following a possible burglary and pursuit.
Just before 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, the HPD dispatch was notified of a potential burglary that was in progress at the 100 block of River Valley Terrace.
Following the call, the suspect was confronted by the homeowner and fled the area in a burgundy sedan.
Officers in patrol located the vehicle on County Road 52 headed towards the direction of South Shades Crest Road and began chasing it. Following a short pursuit by law enforcement, the suspect lost control of their vehicle and eventually crashed on the side of the road.
Officers were able to take the suspect into custody without any further issue and transported them to the hospital.
The driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital for evaluation. Upon completion of the evaluation, the Helena Police Department will charge and release the suspect.
More information will be released as it becomes available on the Helena Police Department Facebook page.
