PELHAM – One of the Pelham Civic Complex and Ice Arena’s most popular events is returning for another installment.

Xtreme International Ice Racing is returning to Pelham as a part of the 2025 XIIR “Relentless” Tour on Saturday, March 15.

“Mark your calendars for an adrenaline-charged night on March 15 at 7 p.m. as we bring the most thrilling racing action on ice to fans once again,” read a press release from XIIR. “XIIR isn’t just another racing tour; it represents the pinnacle of professional motorsports on ice, delivering an unforgettable spectacle.”

The event will feature speedway bikes, pro outlaw quads and flat track motorcycles racing on the ice at breakneck speeds without any brakes. Events typically feature 20 to 25 races with a blend of international and local competitors.

Anthony Barlow, a former ice racer and the owner of XIIR, explained the logistics of the event and what makes it so unique.

“The first thing is it’s on ice, and the speedway bikes go from 0 to 60 in under three seconds,” Barlow said. “There’s no brakes on those and we have the unlimited outlaw four-wheelers, which could mean it could be anything from a 250cc to 1000cc.”

Barlow further emphasized the event’s international draw, with racers coming from England, Australia, Ireland and the United States. Event competitors will compete for a shot at glory on the ice, with Barlow hoping for Pelham to show up and support the unique event.

“(My hope) is just more people in the stands, I suppose,” Barlow said. “We go anywhere from Lake Tahoe to Everett, Washington to Rhode Island. We go all over the place.”
