ALABASTER – Registration is now open for the 2025 season of spring adult softball in the city of Alabaster.
From now until March 31, residents can sign up in person or online for the city’s spring adult softball program. Those wishing to register in person may do so at the Alabaster Parks and Recreation Office at 200 Depot St., Alabaster, AL 35007. The link to online registration can be found at Cityofalabaster.com/416/Adult-Softball.
Registration fees are $285 per team and the forfeit bond is $100. The umpire fee is $25 per game and must be paid to the umpire in cash before each game. No registration is accepted by the city without payment in full.
The city will only accept the first eight paid teams in each league with no exceptions. Once that limit is reached, the registration for the league will immediately close. According to Alabaster Parks and Recreation, team numbers will dictate if leagues have to be merged. Rosters may consist of up to 20 players.
The spring program features the following leagues:
- Open Coed
- Church Coed
- Open Rec
- Men’s church
Each team will play at least 12 regular season games and an end of season tournament. Game nights for Men’s Church and Open Rec will be on Mondays and Thursdays and game nights for Open Coed and Coed Church will be Tuesdays and Fridays. Games will be scheduled for 6:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m., 8:30 p.m. and may include 9:30 p.m. if necessary. Games will not be scheduled on the night of the Thompson High School graduation or on Memorial Day.
Teams are allowed to begin practicing once fully registered and paid with practices set for Wednesdays and Sunday. Each practice will last 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Games will be played at Buck Creek Park and the city will provide a dozen practice balls and game balls.
The spring season will begin the week of April 21.
