CHELSEA – The city of Chelsea accepted responsibility for the roads in Melrose Landing during a regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, March 4 at Chelsea City Hall.
The roads in Melrose Landing have been constructed and worked on before, during and after the building of the houses in the neighborhood, and with the vote during the meeting, the city accepts responsibility for anything that concerns them.
“What this is a sign of is that all substantial construction (of the roads) has been completed,” said Tony Picklesimer, mayor of Chelsea. “Once the seal coat is put on, it is customary that the city does this inspection, and if approved, we accept for the roads in Melrose Landing for life and refund the developer’s bonds.”
Melrose Landing currently holds approximately 280 houses for residents in the city of Chelsea, and now includes these finished roads that have been fully coated and passed by inspection from the city.
In other news the council discussed its monthly financial reports during its regularly scheduled work session that occurred before the meeting, which were provided by Wayne Barber, the city’s chief financial officer.
Also during the work session, the council also discussed potential plans for upcoming projects, as the members provided their thoughts on what they see as best fit for the city and any changes they would like to entertain.
