ALABASTER – Wearing bright smiles, students gleefully sprinted to the finish line as Meadow View Elementary School raised funds during this year’s Boosterthon Fun Run.

Meadow View Elementary School hosted its annual boosterthon on Friday, March 14 with the goal of raising $30,000 and thanks to support of the community, the school exceeded that goal and raised $40,174.

“The event was nothing short of spectacular,” read an official release by Adrian Finley. “Thanks to the incredible support of our students, families and the community, we not only met our fundraising goal… we surpassed it with flying colors.”

This year’s boosterthon featured the theme, “Castle’s Quest” and saw students embark on an educational adventure that featured lessons about bravery and strong character. Each day during the lead-up to the fun run, the class with the most pledges and donations was crowned queen for the day with the students getting to wear crowns and the teacher getting to wear a special outfit. Other boosterthon rewards for students included an opportunity to enjoy lunch outside.

During the official fun run on March 14, students competed laps on a track at Meadow View Elementary School.

“The energy on the track was electric as students ran their hearts out, completing laps with smiles on their faces and determination in their steps,” Finley said. “The fun run not only encouraged physical activity but also promoted school spirit and teamwork, bringing everyone together for a great cause.”

The money raised during the fundraiser will be put toward the purchase of a set of virtual glasses for the school’s STEAM Lab which will benefit all of the student body.

“A huge shoutout to our dedicated volunteers for making this event a success and to our amazing parents for your generosity, whether through donations, volunteering or simply spreading the word,” read an official Facebook post by MVES. “Your involvement makes a real difference and truly showcases the strength of our school community.”
