COLUMBIANA – Children enjoyed snacks, activities and dancing with the Easter Bunny during the eighth annual Easter Bunny Tea Party in Columbiana.
The Columbiana Beautification Board hosted the Easter Bunny Tea Party on Saturday, April 5 from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the Grande Hall at Old Mill Square in Columbiana.
During the party, children of all ages came to the event and enjoyed snacks and a sit-down tea party with Mr. And Mrs. Easter Bunny.
“Families come in and are able to have one-on-one time with the bunnies and take pictures with lots of dancing and fun,” said Lisa Davis, chairperson of the Columbiana Beautification Board. “This year there was a fun craft activity that the children loved. They were able to take a little memento home that they made.”
Davis said that the event’s volunteers enjoy seeing different families come multiple years in a row with some attendees having attended since the inaugural installment of the event.
“One of our favorite parts is seeing the children as they grow and how some families have new little additions that they bring,” Davis said. “It’s amazing to be a part of their Easter tradition. It’s just a great time.”
The Easter Bunny Tea event was first started by local hairstylists and business owners Leigh Ann Langley and Amy Vansant. The Corner Shoppes hosted the first Easter Bunny Tea Party, however, as attendance increases every year, it is now held in the larger Grande Hall. Eventually, the Columbiana Beautification Board was asked to join and hosted the party as a fundraising event for the organization.
Tickets to the Easter Bunny Tea Party were $15 online and at the door while children ages 2 and under got in for free. All funds raised at the event went straight toward the Columbiana Beautification Board and its mission to beautify the city of Columbiana.
“Our vision is to enhance and elevate the charm of Columbiana,” Davis said. “If you drive down Main Street during spring and summer you will see all of the beautiful flowers the board has worked hard on as well as Fall pumpkin decorations. Christmas time in Columbiana is certainly special and one of our favorite times, decorating in our classic Hallmark style really makes Columbiana so beautiful during the holiday season. We wouldn’t be able to do some of these community projects without fundraisers like the Easter Bunny Tea.”
