CHELSEA – Those wishing to learn more about anxiety and ADHD will have the perfect chance during an upcoming educational event at Hargis Christian Camp.

A program presented by the Chelsea Mental Health Action Committee on Anxiety and ADHD will take place at Hargis Christian Camp at 300 Hargis Drive Chelsea, AL 35043 on Wednesday, May 7 at 6:30 p.m. Jeremiah’s Italian Ice will be present and will be giving away Italian ice to visitors for free.

“Join us on May 7 for a free educational program discussing anxiety and ADHD,” read an official release by the National Alliance on Mental Illness Shelby.

Neely Haynes, a licensed professional counselor with a master’s degree in couples and family counseling, will serve as a guest speaker at the event. She established a practice in 2019 and aims to provide care for individuals of all ages—specializing in trauma integration, conflict resolution, communication, depression, anxiety and more.

Anjuli R. Thompson, a licensed professional counselor supervisor, registered play therapist and the founder of HOUSE Counseling will be present at the event. Thompson has dedicated her career to bridging clinical insight with actionable mental health support. According to NAMI Shelby, she is passionate about empowering clients to find regulation, connection and meaning in their lives without shame.

“(The) Chelsea community has come so far in helping raise awareness for mental health, and we have another opportunity to learn more about anxiety and ADHD,” read a Facebook post by Anna Endico with Jeremiah’s Italian Ice. “Let’s continue to come together and break the stigma. We have great speakers, a great location and Jeremiahs will be scooping free ice for us to enjoy as well. Invite your friends and family, and we will see you there.”
