HELENA – One of the staple restaurants in the city of Helena is embarking on a new chapter after nearly three years of service to residents and visitors.
On Friday, May 9, The Steakhouse of Helena announced its closure in an official Facebook post, making a difficult decision to change its direction of service and close its doors after signing a new long-term catering contract to continue its passion of creating memorable food experiences
The restaurant expressed the fun it has had serving its customers throughout the years since it opened, thanking everyone for making the experience authentic and unforgettable.
“This restaurant has been more than just a business,” read an official Facebook post by The Steakhouse of Helena. “It’s been a home, a dream realized and a place where we’ve had the privilege of serving and connecting with all of you. We are incredibly grateful for your support, loyalty and friendship.”
The Steakhouse of Helena opened in June 2022 by Amber Chandler, an experienced worker in the restaurant industry, and sat in the location of the old Bywater Oyster House.
The restaurant was known for its consistently changing menu of steaks, other entrees, sides and desserts, with everything being made from scratch.
Each Sunday the restaurant released a new menu for Sylvia’s Sunday, showcasing a collection of meals similar to that of a meat and three. Popular menu items at the steakhouse included the signature steaks, which provided customers the option to pick their choice cut of meat, as well as the au gratin potatoes and broccoli casserole.
As a co-owner, Chandler and her co-owners wanted to make the space they were in a unique space reminiscent of the old-town vibe from the early 1900s, having exposed brick filling the restaurant with other clippings and historical moments as decoration.
Now, as the restaurant takes on a new service, The Steakhouse of Helena made sure to let its team know how appreciative they are of them, but also stated their excitement for what is to come.
“As we close this chapter, we want to express our deepest gratitude to the incredible team who made this place feel like home,” the Facebook post said. “Your dedication, hard work and heart created not just meals, but memories. Thank you for making this transition with us. We can’t wait to work with you on this new venture.”
