ALABASTER – The Alabaster City Council recognized graduating city personnel and the graduating children of employees during a meeting on Monday, May 12.
During the meeting, Alabaster Mayor Scott Brakefield expressed his gratitude to the city’s employees who make the municipality’s operations possible.
“Thank you,” Brakefield said. “Thank you for allowing us to have your father, your mother, whoever it may be, working for the city. And I hope that they have been able to instill the pride in your community that we have in them and that they should have in our community.”
Brakefield said that he hopes the city employees and their children are able to see the results of their family’s efforts around the city even if it’s in some small way.
“I hope you enjoy riding around the city and seeing something going on in this city that your family had a small part or small hand in,” Brakefield said. “I can’t thank you enough. What we ask of our employees is a lot. They could probably choose to work elsewhere but we try to do the very best we can to recognize their efforts, to tell them ‘thank you’ whenever we can and also try to invest in them the best we can.”
During the meeting, Brakefield called forward each of the graduating city employees and graduating children of employees and presented them gift bags courtesy of Brumlow Legal Group.
