MONTEVALLO – A popular stop for boba tea, coffee and açaí bowls in Shelby County has now closed the doors of its Montevallo location.

Boho Tea Bar has closed after opening on Sept. 6, 2022. The move was announced by the Montevallo Chamber of Commerce in a Facebook post on Friday, May 16. The restaurant will now shift its attention to its sole location in Alabaster, which opened in June 2021.

In the months after opening the original Boho Tea Bar in Alabaster, owner Shannon Hurwitz felt it was the right move to pursue a second location in Shelby County.

“Seeing the success with the Alabaster location, we knew we were kind of on to something,” Hurwitz said. “In looking for additional locations, we were having such a huge request every time we put it out to the public. Montevallo was the number one answer.”

Boho Tea Bar’s menu changes weekly, with new drinks introduced every Tuesday. In addition to its teas, Boho Tea Bar also offers a variety of lemonades, coffees and pastries.

The Montevallo location of Boho Tea Bar was located at 1225 Valley Street, between Elite & Co. Salon and C’s Cake & Coffee House.
