NORTH SHELBY – Students marched across the auditorium to the sound of bagpipes as they were led to their seats during the start of a ceremony dedicated to commemorating this important milestone in their lives during graduation at The Westminster School at Oak Mountain.

“We’re so proud of the class of 2025—their hard work, big hearts and exciting next steps,” read an official Facebook post by the school. “More than just accomplishments, today we celebrate who they’re becoming: students growing in wisdom, virtue and eloquence, ready to build Christ’s kingdom wherever they go.”

The Westminster School at Oak Mountain said farewell to 34 graduating students in the class of 2025 during its commencement ceremony and celebration on Saturday, May 10 at Oak Mountain Presbyterian Church.

“This transition to your next steps after high school also provides an opportunity to reflect on your experiences and achievements that led you to where you are,” said Chris Knowles, director of student support at Westminster. “As we celebrate these achievements, we also consider that many of the best learning opportunities have come not only through experiences of external success but also through struggles. Whether considering your achievements or your struggles, we are not simply celebrating your efforts; we are also celebrating God’s work in and through you.”

The graduating class of 2025 leaves The Westminster School at Oak Mountain with numerous accolades and achievements with the 34 graduates seeing $3,755,698 in offered scholarships and awards and $1,553,852 in accepted scholarships and awards. The average ACT score for the class was 30.

The seniors received 23 athletics awards, 12 fine arts awards and 24 student leadership awards in addition to their success in sports with three state championships, four state runners up and 17 area or section championships.

After the traditional ceremony, The Westminster School at Oak Mountain class of 2025 headed to the back of the auditorium where they threw their caps in celebration of the end of this chapter as they embark on a new one.

“Your call is to be a steward of your gifts, both for the glory of God and the good of others,” Knowles said. “My hope and prayer is that you will rest in God being at work in all things and strive for growth with that truth in mind. I am proud of your work so far, and I look forward with great anticipation to seeing how you will use your lives to love God and your neighbors.”
