PELHAM – Ballantrae Golf Club will host a golf tournament perfect for those looking to tee off for a great cause this Father’s Day.

The club is hosting a tournament in partnership with the Warrior Wellness Group on Monday, June 16. The format of the tournament is a four-person scramble, with all skill levels welcome. Check-in for the event is at 7:30 a.m., with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Awards and prizes, along with a lunch, will be presented at 1 p.m.

Breakfast and lunch is provided at the 18-hole tournament, with raffle prizes also available. There will also be closest to the pin and longest drive contests within the tournament. Registration costs $200 per player or $800 per team. Those interested can register now at Warriorwellnessgroup.com.

Sponsorship opportunities are available for the event, with all proceeds going to Selah Christian Counseling and Wellness to support mental health services for veterans and their families.

Cherie Dopson, the owner of the Warrior Wellness Group and the founder of Selah Christian Counseling and Wellness, discussed the support received for the event thus far.

“We have a vast amount of support for this tournament, including the Pelham Police and Fire departments and the Birmingham VFW amongst others,” Dopson said. “Proceeds will help to support veterans and family members who will be able to be involved in counseling, neurofeedback and several other wellness services offered through Selah.”

Dopson added what participants can expect from the tournament.

“A good round of golf, memories with friends and family and a top-notch experience that people will remember and return to every year,” Dopson said.
