MONTGOMERY – A heavy contingent from Shelby County will represent the area at the North-South All-Star game as four local stars will take the field for the North.

The Kennesaw State commit earned those stats with 24 RBI and 34 runs off 41 hits, including eight doubles and six home runs, and she finished 10-for-12 on stolen base attempts.

Young also was selected as an athlete as she both played shortstop and pitched as part of the Panthers.

In the circle, Young was one of the top pitchers in the area with a 1.41 ERA and a 0.88 WHIP after giving up just 21 runs in 68 innings. She racked up 71 strikeouts on the year against only 20 walks.

As for the school of the same name, Thompson will send its first baseman and pitcher Bush to Montgomery. A South Alabama commit, Bush batted .443 and earned a .528 on-base percentage and .565 slugging percentage for a 1.093 OPS.

Bush finished the campaign with 36 RBI off 51 hits, including six doubles and a pair of home runs. She struck out just nine times over the course of 115 plate appearances.
