MONTGOMERY – Shelby County’s soccer success led to another plethora of North-South All-Star Game selections, and when the team sheets release for the North All-Stars in July, the coaches will have seven county players across the boys and girls teams to choose from.

Chelsea’s Luke Miller, Indian Springs’ Forrest Crawford, Oak Mountain’s Alexander Chaidez-Cruz and Westminster OM’s Rocco Zaccagni will play for the boys North All-Stars while Briarwood’s Saylor Eighmy, Helena’s Baileigh Rumage and Spain Park’s Reese Oldfield will feature for the girls North All-Stars.

In addition to those players, Chelsea’s Lee Miller was announced as the boys North All-Stars coach in a press release by the AHSAA on Tuesday, May 27.

The veteran coach Miller is fresh off a trip to the Final Four for the first time since 2011 after the Hornets defeated Helena, Briarwood and Calera on the road to the Class 6A semifinals. It’s the latest feat in a long stretch of success that included Chelsea rising to No. 2 in the Class 7A coaches poll in 2024.

In a special moment, he will coach his son Luke after a standout season from the Hornets’ junior defender. Luke finished the season with seven goals and three assists while splitting time between the back line and the midfield, and he also earned 21 tackles and 19 interceptions.

Crawford held down the goal for Indian Springs as their goalkeeper in 2025 and helped his team reach the Class 5A state championship game by earning 87 saves and eight clean sheets in 20 appearances. He finished the year allowing just 1.32 goals per match.

Crawford will be one of two county keepers on the North All-Stars as Chaidez-Cruz will represent Oak Mountain.

Chaidez-Cruz moved into a platoon role with Owen Wells this season but continued to excel with crucial clean sheets that helped the Eagles extend their unbeaten run to 60 matches and reach the Class 7A state championship.

Rocco Zaccagni made the North All-Stars team as a midfielder representing Westminster OM. The 5-foot-9, 150-pound rising senior anchored the middle of the field for the Knights to help them win a state championship in their first season in Class 4A.

Over on the girls side, Eighmy will represent the Class 6A state champion Briarwood Christian Lions in Montgomery. The defender finished the year with two goals and an assist while anchoring a back line that gave up just three goals in the final eight games of the season, including the state title game.

Rumage will make history for Helena as the first Husky to play in the girls soccer North-South game. She averaged nearly a goal and an assist per game as she earned 26 goals and 20 assists in 24 appearances as a midfielder and forward for the Area 7 champion Huskies.

Oldfield will represent the Jags as a member of the midfield for the North All-Stars. She was one of the top offensive players in the county in 2025 with her speed along the wing, scoring five goals in the first round against McAdory alongside hat tricks against Chelsea and Briarwood in area play.

In addition, Thompson announced on Instagram that goalkeeper Megan Townsend-Maynor was a nomination for the North-South All-Star Game.

Townsend-Maynor anchored the net throughout the season and came up with multiple big performances, including a shutout of Oak Mountain in the first round and a crucial penalty shootout save that lifted the Warriors to a historic playoff victory.
