North Shelby man arrested for possession of child abuse material

 NORTH SHELBY – Michael Roy Bridges, age 68 of North Shelby County, has been arrested by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and charged with 13 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material.

In early May, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office received information which prompted an investigation into the possible possession of child sexual abuse material. Following the investigation, Bridges was arrested and booked into the Shelby County Jail on May 29 on a total bond of $195,000.

“Thanks to the tireless efforts of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigators, we were able to make a significant arrest in this case,” Sheriff John Samaniego said. “Our commitment to protecting children from exploitation remains unwavering, and we will continue to utilize every resource and partnership available.”

At this time, investigators have no information that suggests the images were produced in or near Shelby County. Additional charges may follow as the investigation continues.
