COLUMBIANA – Enjoy a day exploring the gardens of local homeowners during the Columbiana Beautification Board’s Spring Garden Tour on Saturday, June 7.

Check in for the tour begins at 9 a.m. at Old Mill Square Park at 105 W. College Street, Columbiana, AL 35051. Tickets can be purchased at the ticket tent for $20 in cash or by check. Participants will receive bottled water, goodies and a map of the five locations on the tour which will last from 9:30-11:30 a.m. The board recommends that those interest wear flat, comfortable shoes.

“Come tour some of Columbiana’s prettiest yards and gardens,” said Lisa Davis, chairperson of the Columbiana Beautification Board. “Stroll through the gardens with the homeowners and learn about different varieties of shrubbery, flowers and other landscaping ideas.”

When the tour concludes, various local businesses in Columbiana will offer special discounts for participants.

“After the tour, stop downtown and enjoy lunch and do some shopping with our local businesses,” Davis said.

Proceeds from ticket sales at the Spring Garden Tour will go toward the Columbiana Beautification Board and will be reinvested into the community through the board’s various beautification projects.

“We appreciate the support and look forward to seeing you on the tour,” Davis said.

According to Davis, the Columbiana Beautification Board is comprised of community volunteers who aim to elevate and enhance the beauty of Columbiana.

“We have added so many visual projects over the years including, planters and flowerbed flowers downtown, banners, picnic tables for patrons to enjoy, benches throughout the downtown and surrounding areas,” Davis said. “Christmas time in Columbiana is especially beautiful, and we love decorating our town like the charming little ‘Hallmark’ town it is. We host a few great events throughout the year to encourage everyone to come out and enjoy a fun event while supporting the community.”
