PELHAM – Sarris Café, a local Pelham meat and three restaurant, closed its doors after nearly 20 years in business.

The restaurant announced the unexpected move in a Facebook post on Tuesday, May 27.

“After nearly 20 wonderful years, we are closing our doors,” the post read. “We are incredibly grateful for the love, support and memories shared with each and every one of you. Your loyalty made this more than a café—it became a community, a family and a home. Thank you for letting us serve you. We will cherish these moments forever.”

George Sarris, who immigrated from Greece, opened the restaurant in 2005. George passed away in 2015 and left the restaurant to his brother, Kostas Sarris. Kostas also passed away a year later, leaving Nick Sarris, the son of Kostas, to take over the eatery.

No further information on the restaurant’s closure is available at this time.
