CHELSEA – After being appointed to the Chelsea City Council in October 2023, Arthur Fisher Jr. announced his plans to run for the Chelsea City Council in 2025, seeking his first full term.

Fisher made the announcement in an official Facebook Post on Monday, June 2, looking to continue the duties he has had since his appointment.

“As a husband, Christian, public policy professional and neighbor who believes in the power of local leadership, I’m running to protect what makes Chelsea special while helping guide our growth and wisdom and care,” read an official Facebook post by Arthur Fisher Jr.

Fisher was appointed to the position after former Chelsea City Council member Tiffany Bittner resigned from her seat on Place 4. Fisher works as a full-time public policy manager at Grenergy Renewables USA outside of his work for the council.

Fisher previously served on the Chelsea Planning and Zoning Commission after being appointed in 2022. He was replaced on the board by Amanda Hardy in 2023, who served the remainder of Fisher’s term after he joined the City Council.

With the city taking a rapid leap in growth over recent times, Fisher wants to help be a leader for Chelsea as it goes through the challenges that come to the surface with a rise in population.

“We all see it—Chelsea is growing quickly,” Fisher said. “That’s exciting, but it also comes with real challenges. I believe we need thoughtful, steady leadership to make sure our growth reflects our values—not replaces them.”

Fisher aims to run with a simple promise of “Smart Growth. Strong Values.” As the municipal election race heats up for the city, Fisher knows this is a good time to share what he has learned from his recent time with the Chelsea City Council and what he hopes to achieve if he is reelected.

“Over the next few months, I’ll be sharing more about who I am, what I’ve worked on since joining the council and where I believe we can go as a community,” Fisher said. “I hope you’ll join the conversation, ask questions and stay involved.”

Having been chosen during the appointment process, Fisher hopes that he can bring his passion for strong and stable leadership to the forefront of Chelsea and be reelected to the City Council.

“If you believe in steady, principled leadership that puts Chelsea families first, I’d be honored to earn your support,” Fisher said.

The municipal election for the city of Chelsea will take place on Aug. 26, and those wishing to learn more about Fisher’s campaign can follow his Facebook page at Arthur Fisher, Jr. for Chelsea, Alabama City Council.
