NORTH SHELBY – The Megan Montgomery Foundation will host its third annual Golf Outing at Greystone Founder Golf Course on Monday, June 9.
Net proceeds from the event will benefit Megan’s Foundation to prevent relationship violence before it starts. The foundation has distributed a cumulative total of $280,000 to schools and nonprofits for healthy relationship education programs. Grants have been awarded to Gadsden State, Alabama State University, Horizons School, Girls Inc., Marion Military Institute, Samford University, UAB Student Wellness, University of West Alabama, Wallace State, Girl Scouts of North Central Alabama and many others.
At 10:30 am the range opens with registration. Lunch will take place at 11:45 a.m. with a shotgun start at 1 p.m., and awards and dinner that evening. There will be several prizes.
“Come play where the pros play,” said Meredith Montgomery- Price, executive director. “Because it’s a scramble event it allows beginners to be competitive too. Have fun for a great cause. We are the only nonprofit in Alabama devoted 100 percent to the prevention of relationship violence before it starts; for schools and nonprofits to provide healthy relationship education programs with our funding.”
Hole sponsorships and foursomes are still available. For more information, contact Rod Clark, event chairman, at 205-613-4570 or Rod@megansfoundation.com. Those interested may also visit Megansfoundation.org.
