Lynette Davenport Ellis of Helena, Alabama passed away quietly, at home, on June 22, 2025. She was born June 25, 1962 to Mahlon Ray & Alice Lynette (Boots) Davenport in Birmingham, Alabama. She spent her early life in Birmingham and her teen years in Clanton, surrounded by family. She settled into the Helena area in 1991, creating her own small family with her husband Charles Gregory Ellis. Most locals knew her either from her food at the BP/Coosa Mart or from sitting behind the counter at the WEEMART. She loved that community connection and circle of friends she made and was always ready with a smile to great you. Lynette loved deeply and family meant everything to her, especially her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Ray & Boots, brother Vance, sister Miranda Smith. She is survived by her husband Greg Ellis, daughter Samantha (Ryan) Ellis, grandchildren Leah, Josephine, & Jameson, brother Jeff (Monica) Davenport, and a host of extended family and friends. She will be greatly missed by many.
