ALABASTER – Alabaster residents flocked to the opening of the highly-anticipated 7 Brew on Highway 119 to receive free drinks and enjoy the business’s diverse array of beverages during a hot summer day on Monday, June 23.

A year after its initial announcement, a new 7 Brew location is open in Shelby County in Alabaster at 9207 Highway 119, AL 35007. The business hosted a friends and family soft opening June 20-22 before fully opening to the public on June 23 with free small drinks for customers.

“We’re extremely excited,” said Joshua Adetunji, stand manager at the Alabaster 7 Brew. “We’ve got a lot of positive feedback from the community. They’re ready for us, and we’re ready for them.”

The morning of June 23 saw congestion on Highway 119 as residents made their way to the long-awaited new business which had a police presence to help conduct traffic alongside employees.

“There’s been heavy traffic, a lot of moving cars (and) a lot of moving parts,” Adetunji said.

The new 7 brew location has been preparing for the opening and has hired approximately 63 staff members in the last several weeks to ensure it is equipped to handle customer demand.

“We have some seasoned (veterans) coming in and helping train everybody up,” Adetunji said. “We have some pretty fresh staff, we have a strong team and they’re ready to take on the community.”

Adetunji shared that the most popular beverage so far has been the business’s signature Blondie which is a coffee comprised of espresso with caramel and vanilla syrup. Customers have also been consistent fans of the Pixie Stick featuring a blend of flavors such as almond, orange and pomegranate.

In addition to its lineup of original flavors—Blondie, Brunette, Smooth 7, White Chocolate Mocha, Cinnamon Roll, German Chocolate and Sweet and Salty—7 Brew also offers a variety of other refreshments, including energy drinks, cold brews, teas, lemonades, smoothies, shakes, flavored sparkling waters and lattes.

Alongside the business’s various drink offerings, Adetunji shared that 7 Brew is also focused on the atmosphere offered by its employees.

“We are all about cultivating kindness and having genuine and unique interactions with our customers,” he said. “We really want to develop real relationships, and that’s what keeps the people coming back.”

7 Brew offers a multi-lane drive-thru with employers ready to take customers’ orders on tablets in order to ensure that the process is as quick as possible.

On Saturday, June 28, the Alabaster 7 Brew location will host Swag Day from 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Every purchase of a large drink will come with a free T-shirt while supplies last with a limit of one per customer.

Gaining its namesake from its original lineup of seven coffees, 7 Brew is a drive-thru coffee stand brand that offers more than 20,000 drink combinations. The first location in Rogers, Arkansas opened in 2017 and the business began its expansion at the beginning of 2020 after coming under new ownership.

The Alabaster 7 Brew location was first announced to be coming in spring 2024 alongside a new Taco Bell. After encountering issues with permitting, the business’s opening was delayed until 2025. The Alabaster location marks the second to come to the county after a location opened in 2023 in Calera. A third location is set to open soon in the city of Chelsea off of U.S. 280.
