HARPERSVILLE – Candidate Ryan Harry will serve District 2, Place 3 on the Harpersville Town Council after successfully securing election during the 2025 Municipal Election runoff.
During the runoff on Tuesday, Sept. 23, Harry received 120 votes at approximately 53 percent of the vote, while candidate Starla “Star” Jones received 107 votes at 47 percent.
“I’m just looking forward to getting started with the city and getting to work,” Harry said after the results came in. “I want to thank voters and supporters who came out. Starla ran a great campaign, and it was very close.”
Harry shared that a major aspect of why he ran for office was finding the right balance for good growth in the town of Harpersville.
“Growth is inevitable, but a good growth for Harpersville is not moving too quickly and getting some regulations in place and hopefully moving forward with everybody,” Harry said.
The next term will mark the first time a new face has sat in the District 2, Place 3 seat in more than 20 years, as current Town Council member Janet Gill chose not to seek reelection.
Harry currently works a full-time job in sales for a national corporation where he manages client relationships. He is also the owner and operator of a local small business in Harpersville called Oak Bowery Services, and he works as an operations manager for Old Baker Farm.
During the initial Municipal Election, the two highest vote-getters were Harry, with 81 votes, and Jones, with 85 votes. Candidate Bill Christenberry received 46, Donna Delimater received 13, Christy “CC” Dickey received 2 and Philip Newman received 26.
The next Harpersville Town Council will officially take office in early November.
“We’re looking forward to getting in there and rolling up our sleeves and getting to work,” Harry said.
