COLUMBIANA – For the sixth time in as many games, the Cornerstone Chargers have come out on top, picking up a 30-14 win over the Evangel Montgomery Lions.
It started as a defensive battle. The score was even at eight when the first quarter came to an end. The Chargers added a touchdown in the three remaining quarters while only surrendering one more in the fourth quarter.
Despite not having its usual night on the scoreboard, Cornerstone amassed 363 yards of total offense.
Jackson Moore put together another dominant performance, recording 267 yards and three touchdowns on 54 carries. Jadon Dixon added 81 yards and a touchdown on five carries.
TC Sanders had 10 yards off two carries. Nathan McKnight and Malichi Adams each had a carry for one and four yards, respectively.
Cornerstone (6-0) will look to keep its undefeated season alive next week when it takes on the Escambia County Cougars on the road. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
