Sylacauga man dies from injuries after head-on collision near Chelsea

A Sylacauga man succumbed to his injuries after a crash that occurred on Wednesday, Oct. 29 on County Road 11.

Authorities have confirmed that Antonio E. Morris, age 64 of Sylacauga, has died after a head-on collision occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 29. Morris was critically injured after the 2001 Toyota Tacoma he was driving collided head-on with the 2016 Ford Transit 350 driven by Coleman A. White, age 64 of Alabaster. Morris was transported to the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital for medical treatment. On Thursday, Oct. 30, Morris succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

The crash occurred on County Road 11 near Belcher Road, approximately 1 mile west of Chelsea in Shelby County. No further information is available at this time as troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
