The Beer Hog hosts crawfish boil

PELHAM – The Beer Hog, a local bar in Pelham, hosted a crawfish boil with Til We Run Out Crawfish that brought hundreds of locals together for a fun-filled day of food and entertainment.

The event was initially scheduled for Saturday, March 15, but due to adverse weather circumstances throughout Shelby County was rescheduled to Sunday, March 16.

Guests were able to pair hot, spicy crawfish fresh from the pot with a selection of 64 craft beers served by The Beer Hog. Ian Johnson, the general manager of the Beer Hog, discussed the event as a whole.

“It was really good,” Johnson said. “We didn’t have a whole lot of expectations especially with the weather that preceded it the day before… we felt like it was definitely a great excuse to get out and be a part of the community the day after, so we didn’t have high expectations for it but we were pleasantly surprised.”

Johnson said that the event ended up serving around 1,200 people, with nearly 900 pounds of crawfish being served.

“Everybody was super happy,” Johnson said. “It was very communal… crawfish and picnic tables brings strangers together… It’s generally always just an amazing time.”
