Shelby County Chamber to hold Montgomery Drive-In event

FROM STAFF REPORTS

The Shelby County Chamber, in collaboration with 58 INC, Shelby County’s economic development corporation and the Hoover area and Montevallo chambers of commerce will hold a Montgomery Drive-In event on Wednesday, Feb. 5 to meet with key state government officials.

The event will feature a presentation from Lt. Gov. Will Ainsworth, as well as updates from various state agencies and departments. The event will conclude with a reception honoring state government leaders.

Shelby County Chamber president & CEO Kirk Mancer shared his thoughts on the event.

“Hosting this annual event—along with our annual State of the County Luncheon, our State Legislative Preview Luncheon, Washington Fly-In and Washington Update programs with our federal delegation—is part of the chamber’s efforts to facilitate stronger collaboration between business and government,” Mancer said. “Our purpose with the Drive-In is to provide our business and community leaders an opportunity to participate in better understanding our state governmental and legislative process through increased engagement. Each of the agencies and departments with whom we’ll meet have a direct impact on Shelby County’s and Alabama’s continued success, so we’re anticipating an informative day.”

The event, which includes lunch at Central Restaurant in Montgomery and the reception, costs $65 per person. For additional information, contact Kirk Mancer at 205-663-4542 or by email at kirk@shelbychamber.org.
