Pelham City Schools holding kindergarten registration

By DAVE DOMESCIK | Staff Writer

PELHAM – Pelham City Schools held a kindergarten registration session on Thursday, April 10 from 3:30-6 p.m.

Another registration session was held on Tuesday, April 1 from 9 a.m. to noon at Pelham Oaks Elementary and Pelham Ridge Elementary. Registration is designed for families with children that will start kindergarten in the 2025-2026 school year, which will begin on Thursday, August 7.

Registered students will receive a “Home of a Future Panther—Ready for Kindergarten” Yard Sign, with students being organized to Pelham Oaks or Pelham Ridge based on the zones they live in.

To register, families are asked to set up a PowerSchool account and complete online registration for their student. Online registration should be completed prior to the kindergarten registration day at the school where the student is zoned.

The PowerSchool account is meant to be created by an adult family member, with only one account per household.

After setting up a PowerSchool account, families are asked to attend registration at the school where their student is zoned. Various forms are required at registration, including a photo ID and a current, up-to-date Alabama Immunization Form for the student.

A birth certificate and custody papers should also be on hand, if applicable. Proof of residence is also required.
