Lew-E’s Comedy Circus returns to Pelham Public Library

By DAVE DOMESCIK | Staff Writer

PELHAM – Lew-E’s Comedy Circus is returning to the Pelham Public Library on Tuesday, May 27, bringing high-energy entertainment and family fun in the form of a one-person show.

The show features juggling, comedy magic and audience interaction designed for kids and parents alike. Lew-E is also bringing Oogly, his sidekick and the World’s Funniest Oranguatan, for the performance.

The event will be held in Roberts Room A and B at the library from 2-3 p.m. Admission is free and for all ages. Rebecca Thrasher Burchfield, a children’s librarian at Pelham Public Library, described what made the library bring Lew-E back for another performance.

“Lew-E has been to our library before, and we have gotten great feedback from our patrons regarding his show,” Burchfield said. “He is high energy and not afraid to be a little goofy, which gets everything off to a good start. We can count on him to go above and beyond to make sure everyone is enjoying themselves throughout his performance. It shows we are ready to have a summer filled with fun.”

Burchfield believes that the show is a natural fit into the library’s broader summer programming for kids and families.

“We offer a wide variety of programs aimed at different ages, and we like to start with something that is enjoyable for the whole family,” Burchfield said. “If someone has a great time at this event, they may want to come back for further events here. It is a nice jumping off point to show the community all of the exciting things happening at the library.”

Burchfield also described in depth what families can expect from the performance.

“Lew-E brings lots of silliness and humor to the library with his show,” Burchfield said. “Families can expect tons of shenanigans—jokes, magic tricks, his fuzzy puppet pal Oogly and an overall entertaining time. You will definitely hear laughing and cheering throughout the library while Lew-E is here.”
